Built for long life and complete silence, the Smooth 5.45's powerful 2.5-horsepower motor is engineered with an advanced Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) circuit board. In conjunction with the optical speed sensors, the PWM virtually eliminates noise and helps the treadmill change speeds smoothly. Perhaps the best feature for frequent runners, however, is the patented suspension running deck, which is proven to lessen the impact of walking and running. The entire running deck and frame is suspended on two pivots, increasing the cushioning and reducing the harmful impact on your ankles, knees, hips, and back.
The Smooth 5.45 also offers a variety of workout programs to keep your body and mind refreshed. The workouts--which are customizable to meet your personal fitness level--include manual, interval incline, interval speed, weight loss, 5K self-learning/competition, and heart rate control. Finally, the treadmill offers nine storable user profiles, which is particularly handy for households with multiple users. The treadmill lets up to nine people save their age, weight, and target heart rate info for instant access.
